Mudbone has entertained CAPA audiences over the last few years in outdoor concerts presenting an eclectic take on The Blues, adding elements of Funk, Jazz, Latin, Zydeco, Reggae and everything in between!. This concert at the Wang Opera Center will be a first for CAPA and Mudbone. It also will be our first look at Jerry Fierro, a vocalist and percussionist, but mostly a virtuoso harmonica player, having won many national and local “Blues Harp” titles. Rick Howard says, “His harp is musical, expressive and versatile. He can play like a horn section, play sweet and sensitive or nasty dirty! Jerry is the perfect fifth Mudbone member!”
Rick Howard is a multi-faceted Guitarist/Vocalist who plays and sings it all. Rick has shared the stage and recorded with Keith Emerson, John Entwhistle, Chico Hamilton, Paquito D’Rivera,Slide Hampton, Shania Twain, Freddy Fender and Bob Marley. He fronted his Latin Jazz group IGUAZU in New York for ten years, recording two albums with them.
Mario “The Catman” Infanti, Guitarist/Vocalist, has regularly toured with two-time Grammy winner Chuck Mangione and has played venues all over the country including the legendary Blue Note in New York City. He has performed with Jazz greats like Phyllis Hyman and has many studio and commercial credits. Mario is a true virtuoso in every sense of the word.
David C. Johnson, Bassist/Multi-instrumentalist/Vocalist, was a member of the legendary “Mambo Brothers.” Since 2000, David has toured with The Neville Brothers. He is Musical Director of the Aaron Neville Quintet. His technical skill on the Bass is unparalleled, only equaled by his versatility and personality. Born in St. Louis, Mo.
Bill E. Peterson, Drummer/Percussionist, was the drummer for USF’s Jazz Ensemble and Combo I, Peterson performed with: Ron Blake, Jon Faddis, Marvin Stamm, Ray Charles and legendary drummer Louis Bellson. He currently plays with a variety of SWFL’s finest musicians, being a Drummer who can perform any genre of music with authenticity and taste….and the man can lay it in the pocket!
